Suzuka Circuit is a 3.608 mile (5.807 km) permanent road course in Suzuka, Mie Prefecture, Japan. Owned by Honda and operated by Honda Mobilityland, it opened in September 1962 as a test track for the carmaker and quickly became one of the most respected racing venues in the world. The layout was designed by Dutch engineer John Hugenholtz, who also shaped Zandvoort.

The circuit is famous for its rare figure-eight configuration, where the track crosses over itself via an overpass, balancing the demand of left and right corners. Its 18 turns include the flowing Esses, the daunting 130R high-speed corner, the long Spoon Curve, and the final chicane. Drivers and engineers regard Suzuka as a true test of car balance and commitment, with rhythm and precision rewarded over raw power.

Suzuka hosts the Formula One Japanese Grand Prix, the FIM Suzuka 8 Hours endurance motorcycle race, Super GT, and Super Formula, among other major series. For students of driving it is a benchmark, a track that asks for clean lines, confidence through fast transitions, and disciplined throttle control, which is why it remains a bucket-list destination for racers and fans alike.
