Eagles Canyon Raceway

Eagles Canyon Raceway is a road course built to FIA specifications near Decatur, Texas, about 50 miles northwest of Fort Worth in eastern Wise County. Conceived by motorsports enthusiasts David and Linda Cook, the track was designed in consultation with former racing driver Rob Wilson and former Formula One team manager Peter Windsor to recreate the feel of a European countryside circuit on the rolling Texas prairie. It opened in November 2007 and sits on hundreds of acres of rocky hills and valleys that give the layout significant elevation change.

The circuit is known for its dramatic topography, with roughly 200 feet of total elevation change that drivers often compare to the feel of Sonoma Raceway and Laguna Seca. The flowing layout combines sweepers, esses, switchbacks, carousels, and double-apex corners, and its long straights, including a back straight of more than 2,000 feet, lead into hard braking zones that reward aggressive, well-timed passing. Following a 2017 ownership change to Autodrome LLC, the main course was repaved and reconfigured into the 2.75-mile, 15-turn "Italian Canyon," while a shorter 1.65-mile "Canyon" variant remains available. Courses can be run clockwise or counterclockwise.

For drivers, Eagles Canyon offers a technical, elevation-rich proving ground that is ideal for performance driving instruction and lapping days. The facility supports a strong member community along with classrooms, garages, and a clubhouse, and it regularly hosts SCCA and NASA events, Track Night in America, endurance favorite 24 Hours of Lemons, and CMRA motorcycle racing. That blend of demanding layout and active programming makes it one of North Texas' premier destinations for learning car control at speed.
