Pacific Raceways

Pacific Raceways is a mixed-use motorsport facility near Kent, Washington, combining a 2.25-mile road course with a quarter-mile drag strip on a single property in the Pacific Northwest. Built in 1959 and opened in 1960, the track was known as Seattle International Raceways from 1969 to 2001 before reverting to its original Pacific Raceways name after the landowning Fiorito family regained control in 2002. It remains family-owned and is one of the longest-running road racing venues in the western United States.

The road course is a 10-turn layout known for more than 125 feet of elevation change and a naturally wooded back section, giving it a flowing, technical character that rewards commitment and precise line selection. The signature uphill front straight and downhill esses make it a genuine test of car control, which is why it has long been a favorite of regional racers and driving instructors alike. The circuit is used by the SCCA, SOVREN, ICSCC, and the Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association for car and motorcycle competition.

Pacific Raceways has hosted a deep roster of national events across its history, including the NHRA Northwest Nationals, USAC IndyCar, the United States Road Racing Championship, the Trans-Am Series, AMA Superbike, and NASCAR regional racing. For drivers, the combination of a challenging elevation-rich layout, an active club and instructional scene, and decades of professional racing heritage makes it one of the premier places in the region to develop on-track skill.
