Okayama International Circuit is a permanent road racing course in Mimasaka, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. Opened in November 1990 and originally known as TI Circuit Aida, the venue sits in the hills of western Japan and holds an FIA Grade 2 license. Its Grand Prix layout measures 3.703 km (2.301 mi) and packs 13 turns into a compact, technical lap.
The circuit is best known internationally for hosting the Formula One Pacific Grand Prix in 1994 and 1995, where Michael Schumacher set the still-standing race lap record. Today it anchors a busy Japanese calendar, hosting Super GT, GT World Challenge Asia, the Japan Cup Series, and Super Formula Lights, and it previously welcomed the World Touring Car Championship and the Japan Le Mans Challenge.
For drivers, Okayama is a rewarding study in precision. The tight, undulating layout demands clean lines, careful braking, and disciplined throttle control rather than outright top speed, which makes it an excellent proving ground for sharpening race craft. Its blend of elevation change, varied corner radii, and a genuine grand prix pedigree gives students a challenging and historically significant track to develop their skills.
