Lime Rock Park

Lime Rock Park is a natural-terrain road racing circuit in Lakeville, Connecticut, set in the wooded northwest corner of the state within the town of Salisbury. The compact 1.53-mile course winds through 7 turns over rolling terrain, making it one of the shortest and fastest road courses in North America. Its flowing layout, elevation changes, and signature corners, including sections named for drivers Sam Posey and Paul Newman, reward precise car control and commitment, which is why it has long been a favorite proving ground for both amateurs and professionals.

Built in 1956 and opened in 1957, Lime Rock is one of the nation's oldest continuously operating road racing venues. It was owned for decades by racing legend Skip Barber, founder of the famed Skip Barber Racing School, before passing to Lime Rock Group, LLC in 2021. The track was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, and a long-standing court injunction still preserves its character by limiting racing on Sundays. Over the years it has hosted icons such as Mario Andretti, Stirling Moss, Dan Gurney, Mark Donohue, and Paul Newman.

Today Lime Rock Park remains a marquee stop for the IMSA SportsCar Championship and the Trans-Am Series, alongside SCCA club events, vintage racing during its celebrated Historic Festival, and occasional NASCAR competition. For drivers, its blend of high speed, rhythm, and history makes it an exceptional place to learn race craft and sharpen technique, a circuit where the fundamentals of car control truly matter.
