The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course is an FIA Grade One infield circuit at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana, just west of downtown Indianapolis. It threads through the famous Brickyard infield and joins part of the historic 2.5-mile oval, including the main straight and its iconic brick start-finish line. The current Grand Prix Road Course layout measures 2.439 miles with 14 turns, combining tight technical infield sections with the high-speed sweep of the oval front stretch.

Road racing arrived at the Speedway in 2000, when a 2.605-mile course was built to host the United States Grand Prix for Formula One. The layout was revised in 2008 for MotoGP and reconfigured again in 2014 into the version IndyCar and sports cars race on today. The Speedway grounds themselves date to 1909, making this one of the most storied venues in motorsport, and the road course gives the cathedral of speed a modern, multi-discipline circuit alongside its world-famous oval.

For drivers, the IMS Road Course is a rewarding test of precision and bravery. The slow, heavy-braking infield corners demand patience and clean rotation, while the run onto the oval rewards commitment and momentum. Racing over the bricks at the start-finish line connects every lap to more than a century of history, which is why the venue holds such meaning for anyone who competes there.
