The Hockenheimring is one of Germany's most storied motorsport circuits, set in the town of Hockenheim in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg. The current Grand Prix layout runs 2.842 miles (4.574 km) over 17 turns, blending fast straights with technical corner sequences and the famous stadium section, where grandstands wrap tightly around the track and put drivers under the eyes of tens of thousands of spectators. The circuit first opened in 1932 and was originally known as the Hockenheimer-Dreieck before taking its modern name.

For decades the Hockenheimring was defined by its long, flat-out blasts through the surrounding forest, a high-speed character that made it a unique test of bravery and aerodynamic efficiency. A major redesign completed in 2002 shortened the lap and added the slower, more technical infield, shifting the demands toward braking precision, throttle control on corner exit, and careful tire management. That mix of heritage and modern layout makes it a rewarding circuit to learn.

The Hockenheimring is best known as a longtime home of the Formula One German Grand Prix, hosted intermittently from 1970 to 2019, and it remains a flagship venue for the DTM touring car series. It has also welcomed Grand Prix motorcycle racing, World Sportscar and GT championships, and the NitrolympX drag racing event. For drivers developing their craft, Hockenheim offers a genuine Grand Prix-grade challenge with a deep racing legacy behind every lap.
