Autobahn Country Club

Autobahn Country Club is a private road racing circuit and member-owned motorsports facility in Joliet, Illinois, about an hour southwest of Chicago. Designed by noted track architect Alan Wilson and opened in October 2004, the venue was built as a country club for driving enthusiasts, pairing a permanent road course with clubhouse amenities and private garages. The full layout runs 3.56 miles with 19 turns over asphalt, and it can be split into a 1.46-mile, 9-turn North Circuit and a 2.10-mile, 15-turn South Circuit, allowing two groups to run simultaneously.

The circuit is known for its technical, flowing character, with elevation changes, blind crests, and a demanding mix of fast sweepers and tight, late-apex corners that reward precision and commitment. Because it can be configured as one long track or two independent loops, Autobahn offers a versatile environment for everything from novice instruction to advanced lapping, making it a favorite for high performance driver education and club racing in the upper Midwest.

Over the years Autobahn has hosted a range of professional and amateur series, including the Atlantic Championship, the Trans-Am Series, the Star Mazda Championship, the U.S. F2000 National Championship, the Global MX-5 Cup, and Speed World Challenge events. For drivers, it remains a compelling place to build car control, learn racecraft, and log seat time on a layout that punishes mistakes and rewards smooth, deliberate inputs.
