Mike Calka
Mike Calka is a private coach at FastLane and a dedicated, high-mileage racer who has spent more than a decade instructing on track. He coaches alongside FastLane Chief Instructor and longtime friend Matt Treglia, and runs his own Radical SR3 sports racer, one of a pair he owns, alongside a 1999 Corvette.
Mike’s reputation is built on seat time. Over the past ten years he has logged hundreds of instructional track days, and his pace in the Radical is quick enough that he is regularly chosen as the lead and control car for race starts and restarts. He has competed with the Alfa Romeo club and in SCCA and NASA competition, and has turned laps at essentially every major circuit within 300 miles of Los Angeles, from Buttonwillow to Auto Club Speedway and Laguna Seca.
He stepped back from organized racing for a simple reason: track days gave him more time doing what he loves, which is driving, and teaching others to do it well. In private one-on-one coaching at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, Mike brings that deep, real-world experience to every session, meeting each driver where they are and building genuine speed and confidence.
