What the Best Drivers Still Get Wrong

Matt Treglia is FastLane’s Chief Instructor, and he has spent almost his whole life chasing speed. He first got behind the wheel at age five, and more than twenty years into a career as a professional coach and instructor, that same obsession still shapes every day he spends at the track.

His racing background runs deep. Matt has competed in GT and prototype cars in the SCCA, tested formula cars in Europe, and coached drivers in the Ferrari Challenge. That range means he is just as at home developing a first-time student as he is dialing in an experienced racer hunting the last tenth of a second.

What sets Matt apart is how much of his craft lives beyond the driver’s seat. He works hands-on with car setup, handling, and race strategy, so a day with him is never only about lap times. It is about understanding why the car behaves the way it does, and how to make it work for you. Every session is one-on-one, built around your goals, and designed to make you genuinely faster.

Away from the track, Matt lives in Ventura with his wife and fills his time with anything that moves quickly, from mountain biking to racing RC cars. If it is fast, he is in. Bring your goals to Buttonwillow and spend a day learning from one of the most complete coaches in the sport.
