Greg Pene
Greg Pene is a professional driving coach at FastLane and the founder of GP Performance Driving. A former formula car racer turned professional stunt driver, Greg has built his career around car control at the highest level, both on track and on camera.
Greg started his racing career in Formula Ford at Riverside Raceway in 1976. He became a racing instructor with the SCCA shortly after obtaining his national license in early 1977, and went on to become assistant chief instructor and then chief instructor for both open-wheel and closed-wheel race groups. After winning the SCCA Southern Pacific Division Formula Continental Championship, Greg was recruited by Performance Two, a stunt-driving team for the film industry. A member of SAG/AFTRA for over forty years, he has coordinated and performed in numerous commercials, live shows, action print ads, features, and television productions. Greg continues to work with professional driving schools, nationwide ride-and-drive programs and, most importantly, teen defensive-driving programs.
That blend of racing experience, on-camera performance driving, and a genuine passion for teaching is what Greg brings to FastLane. In private one-on-one coaching at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, he meets each driver where they are and builds real, transferable skills, whether the goal is confidence, outright speed, or a competition license.
