What it's like to drive
It never bites you. You feel exactly what the rear is doing through a corner, so you can lean on it, make a mistake, and learn from it instead of crashing. By the afternoon I was carrying speed I would never have dared in my own car.

If you can drive the 86 well, you can drive anything. It rewards a clean line and smooth hands over horsepower, which is the whole foundation of race craft.

Drive it in
Light, balanced, and rear-wheel drive, the Toyota GR86 (and its FRS predecessor) is one of the best cars in the world to learn race craft in. It rewards smooth inputs and good lines over raw power, which is exactly what builds a fast, confident, safe driver.
It is a staple of the High-Performance Driving Academy and the SCCA Race Licensing path, always driven one-on-one with a pro coach in the passenger seat. It is where a lot of our drivers fall in love with the sport.
