Fast Lane is an SCCA Accredited Driving School!

BUTTONWILLOW, Calif. (May 9, 2008) Excitement brews in the racing world with the announcement that Danny McKeever's FAST LANE Racing School is now Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) accredited. This recognition by the SCCA bolsters the California Sports Car Club’s partnership with FAST LANE as their official driving school and it has never been easier to find your way behind the wheel of a race car.
FAST LANE graduates can now race with the "Best in the West", California Sports Car Club (Cal Club), a region of the SCCA. Graduates of one of our SCCA accredited courses are eligible for licensing recommendation and can present to SCCA with their Novice Permit applicaion.
The relationship between Cal Club and FAST LANE is sturdy. Cal Club's Chief Driver Instructor, Jim Bishop, is one of several Cal Club members who participate in their program. Bishop said, “FAST LANE offers a high quality program and it is a very good fit with the Cal Club’s SCCA licensing school and provides an outstanding opportunity for individuals to get their SCCA license during any month of the year, not just once or twice a year. This is another example of the club’s effort to provide even better service to the members.”
The brainchild of this sweet partnership is 2007 Cal Club Regional Executive, John Reitman. His vision was followed through by Cal Club's 2008 Board of Governors.
Penny Coy, Cal Club Board Member and Assistant Regional Executive said, “this partnership creates an excellent way to increase opportunity for more aspiring race drivers to get the training required to compete. The program enhances the efforts of the Cal Club Driver School by making the experience available throughout the year.”
Danny McKeever got hooked on road racing in the late 50’s and has been a racer and teacher of racers for 40 years. He continues to run one of the most successful racing schools in the country. Although FAST LANE has an extremely talented staff of instructors, Danny typically teaches all high performance schools to this day. For two decades Danny McKeever's FAST LANE school has been “THE INSTRUCTORS FOR THE STARS”, training celebrities for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. FAST LANE is also a top-notch defensive driver training academy. The Defensive Driving Academy (DDA)is also held in Valencia and Pomona, so students have the opportunity right in their own backyard to benefit from the curriculum of DDA.
