Absolutely the most frequently asked question. And, the answer is… A LOT! At FAST LANE you will be worn out from so much track time. FAST LANE’s philosophy is “there is no better place to learn than on the track”.
How fast will I go?
We don’t put a speed limit on drivers during our lapping sessions. Your ability is your only speed limit. In the interest of safety, we will slow drivers down who pose a danger to themselves or other drivers.
What is a typical class size?
Class sizes usually range from 12 – 18 drivers. Typically, we maintain a 3:1 student to instructor ratio, so all students receive excellent instruction despite class size. FAST LANE Racing School students never have to share a race car, you are always given your own car.
Can I bring a guest with me?
Absolutely… Guests are always welcome at FAST LANE Racing School. They are invited to sit in and listen to the classroom, provided there is room, and then go out to the race track to observe. We do require all guests to sign our waivers. If you’d like your guest to join you, you may purchase their lunch on the morning of your course.
Can I take photos/videos?
You sure can. Safety is our primary concern, so we restrict some areas. With that said, bring out your camera and / or video camera and “shoot” away.
How do I sign up?
Simply fill out an application and fax it in (with a credit card) or mail it in (with a check or money order). Once your application is received, our office will process it and send out a Confirmation Letter confirming your spot in your requested course.
Do you have race cars with automatic transmissions?
No, all of our race cars have a manual transmission and all participants must have experience driving this type of car. Our skid pad cars are automatics, but we don’t use them for lapping sessions on the racetrack.
Do I have to bring a helmet?
No, we have both driving suits and helmets for all of our FAST LANE Racing School participants to use and they are included in the cost of the course.
How does this school differ from other schools?
There are many good racing schools out there and we all teach many of the same fundamental driving/racing techniques. Our claim to fame is training the Pros and Celebrities for the Toyota Pro/Celebrity race. We’ve worked with John Elway, Ashley Judd, Jay Leno, Cameron Diaz, George Lucas, Clint Black, Gene Hackman, and Olympian Picabo Street and Dara Torres among others.
Good questions to ask when you are deciding on a school are:
Location (FAST LANE is located just north of the greater Los Angeles area)
Actual track driving time (some schools bog you down with in-car exercises)
Amount of lead n’ follow time (the amount of time you are required to follow a lead car at a certain speed)
Student to instructor ratio
Is the course all-inclusive? (includes driving suit, helmet, photo, lunch, driving manual)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Willow Springs is located an hour and a half North of Downtown Los Angeles on the north side of the " Antelope Valley". ALL Classes begin promptly at 8:30am. Registration is between 8:00am and 8:25am. Please allow enough time to arrive before class begins.
